LICENSE OF WELDER

To access the profession, as mentioned, it is necessary to possess the so-called welder's license.

It is a mandatory document, from 1 July 2014, so that those who work in companies and workshops comply with the European regulation UNI EN ISO 9606-1:2017.


The section "Welder qualification tests - Fusion welding - Part 1: Steels", in detail, specifies the requirements necessary to undertake the welder qualification test for fusion welding of steels.


HOW TO GET A WELDING LICENSE

L Welding license It can be achieved in two ways:


-attending a welding course of content, duration and training path in line with the final certification requested and which gives the operator the necessary preparation to pass the final qualification exam;


-or, if the operator already has the technical-operational skills necessary to pass the exam, he can take it directly without attending the entire course.


The good manual skills of the welder can only be assessed through the execution of a welded joint which will subsequently be subjected to laboratory tests, required by the reference standards, the positive outcome of which (absence of defects) allows the final certification to be achieved.

THE welder's licenses they specify the fields of validity of the welding procedure, expressed as thicknesses, welding methods, types of joints.

There welder certification, or welders' license, is valid for three years.


OMER SPA AGREEMENT

Our welding school has entered into an agreement with the certified company Omer SpA. The company, located in the industrial area of Carini, in the province of Palermo, operates in the sector of interior furnishings and components for railway transport vehicles (aluminium), representing a point of reference on the European market.


All students who have attended the TIG course at our school they will have the opportunity to have an interview and welding test (aluminium) at the company.

  • What are the requirements to access the courses?

    No particular requirements and no particular school qualifications are required.

  • How much is the course?

    The cost of the course varies depending on the type of specialization you want to obtain; There is an initial deposit and balance before the exams

  • How long is the course?

    The courses are structured in 120 hours to be carried out in the morning from 9 to 13 or in the afternoon from 17 to 21. The course can also be carried out in 3 weeks, doing 8 hours a day.

  • Is it necessary to have familiarity or experience with welding to participate in the courses?

    Absolutely not, we start from the basics, following a training path suitable for everyone, even those who have never had welding experience before.

  • What are the job opportunities for a welding professional?

    There are many job opportunities; the figure of the qualified welder is required in many fields from shipbuilding in general to the naval sector, from automotive to metalworking, in the mining and oil industries and in steel companies. Our school has produced welders who work in companies of international importance, with permanent contracts just a few months after obtaining their licence.   • Is a license issued at the end of the course?

  • Where is the school?

    The school is located in Bagheria, in the province of Palermo, SS 113 at Km 248.60. It is easily accessible by train, with a free shuttle service; for residents outside the province the school has an agreement with accommodation facilities such as B&Bs at discounted rates.

  • Does the license need to be renewed?

    The license is valid for 3 years, then it must be renewed by carrying out a welding test; for renewal it is necessary to send a copy of the expired license and pay the renewal fee.

  • How long does it take to obtain or renew my license?

    The license can be personal, if requested by a natural person, or associated with both if the company requests certification for the staff; in the event of interruption of the employment relationship, the license does not remain in the possession of the worker.

  • I am a welder and I would like to get my license, what should I do?

    To obtain the license it is necessary to carry out an essay and be suitable for the visual test and laboratory tests. Those who weld frequently must make an appointment with our secretariat to carry out the test by presenting themselves with documents and wearing the required PPE.

  • What is the difference between certificate and license?

    The license is a document that refers to precise European and international standards, issued by a certifying body, which certifies through documentation all the operations carried out by the welder and the specializations and manual skills for which he meets the requirements.
